Below are the definitions of the Volumes per the ICRU 50 & 62.
IrV
IrV (Irradiated Volume) – “The Irradiated Volume is that tissue volume which receives a dose that is considered significant in relation to normal tissue tolerance.” Thus, the IrV will vary depending on the treatment technique and beam(s) used. Because the IrV is necessarily variable and somewhat ambiguous in concept, it is seldom used clinically.
