Lesson: Breast Module
Typically, Breast Cancer patients are positioned on the treatment couch with either the ipso-lateral arm over the head, or both arms over the head. So, for a person with breast cancer of the right breast, the right arm would be positioned over the head (or both arms over the head.) This arm position insures that the contralateral arm does not get exit dose. Also, the head is turned slightly to the unaffected side. This will help to ensure that the chin is not in the treatment field.
